What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language who wish to develop their English language proficiency to pursue an academic pathway.
Graduates will have the language skills required to communicate independently and effectively in familiar and some less familiar situations with fluency and flexibility in academic contexts where English is the medium of instructions.
This qualification allows educational institutions to recognise the level at which the graduate can use English for academic purposes.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
A candidate for admission to this programme of study shall: (a) have attained the age of 16 or over; and (b) have an English level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (General or Academic) (with no band less than 5.0) / TOEFL iBT 46 (with a writing score of 14) / PTE academic score of 42 with no band lower than 36 / AIS Test of English Proficiency (TEP) 48/80 (with no band less than 11); or (c) NZCEL (Applied) Level 3; or (d) have successfully completed AIS EAP I (under General English approval); or (e) have successfully completed AIS General English Intermediate Level; or (f) gain approval under Admission Regulation 1.3: Special Admission.
